The ideas conversations and community that is forming is a wonderfully inspiring thing to witness. New people are discovering the studio every day which is exciting – new people like Elizabeth Amey.
Elizabeth contacted me almost a year ago in search of a place to create and be amongst other artists. Having first started as a casual member visiting the studio a couple of days a week, Elizabeth has now become a our newest occupying artist and my new neighbour.

You may have noticed some new blankets in the studio or may even have bought a beautiful crochet book mark, if so, then they were individually handmade by Elizabeth Amey. Her work is the perfect addition to the studio; another discipline and skill to add to our mix – perfect.
As is my hope, the intention of a dedicated creative space is to empower and inspire, so Elizabeth’s path to now, embodies all I hoped would come from spending time at the studio and immersing yourself in a creative space with other artists.

Following the path of your heart is always a journey, but it’s one that can ignite ideas and opportunities that you may never have considered until you embarked on the quest to discover whether you can make that long held dream a reality. Ok so I got a little romantic there but it’s how I feel about living the creative dream – it’s empowering and it can be done.
After completing a custom blanket commission, I watched Elizabeth quietly creating and experimenting with different ideas until one day I spied the most beautiful creation of gorgeousness in gold and multicolour beads. As a jewellery designer myself I instantly thought it would be beautiful worn – could I incorporate it into some of my clothing? All I new is that I loved it and I new I wasn’t going to be the only one.
The seed was sown. A few more brainstorms later, lots of tests, a little alchemy and boom, like pure creative energy, manifested through passion and desire, her beautiful sterling silver crochet jewellery was born.
This absolutely stunning bracelet is one example of Elizabeth’s exquisite work. The collection is constantly growing and now includes, earrings, rings and her unique signature pattern bracelets – all available exclusively at Amanartis.
You’ll often catch Elizabeth at the studio during the week from around 11-2pm – visit, view the collection and meet the artist.
