Amma Gyan, artist and founder of Amanartis. After almost 20 years as an artist taking on various different roles, Amma has returned to her love of art and textiles. Her work is combination of mixed media, pencil sketches and jewellery.
The Seat
Art constitutes a region half-way between a reality which frustrates wishes and the wish-fulfilment world of the imagination — a region in which, as it were, primitive man’s strivings for omnipotence are still in full force” (Freud, 1913, p. 188 ).
I am both an artist and a psychotherapist. Both of which have been the main influences in my life.
'Many Faces'
Portraying inner and outer journeys, Martin’s attempts as a self-taught artist began in 2017. He is most comfortable with watercolour, often complemented with ink, and has explored graphite and charcoal amongst other media . His intent is to capture a point in time where the subject is explored as it becomes – a film rather than a photograph.
Martin has recently been featured on Arsty Shark artist Showcase Fall 2023
Abstract Flowers
Born in Exeter, UK, John Richard Hewitt has lived in Costa Rica, the United States and Jordan. His life has taken him on many journeys before settling in Hertfordshire and establishing himself as a resident artist at Amanartis, located in Watford.

Louise Greenfield, (b. London 1981), studied at the University of Brighton and received a 1st class Ba (hons) in Applied Art.

Saba Mir is an artist who’s work I was introduced to a couple of years ago. I was immediately struck by the energy and mood that she captures in her work. You’re transported to a place where you can almost feel the warm air on your face and atmosphere as the sun sets.
