Alethea is part of the WOM collective, bringing female street artists to the fore.
Her work is combination of traditional and contemporary graffiti art and pen point portraits.
The faces we know and the faces we don’t – they look at you to see if you see them, truly seem them.
Street art and the culture that followed, persisted and permeates every aspect of our everyday life, this at its time of emergence was the ultimate social commentary. Born out of desire for the black community to own space to express it’s self, it has become an art form that is commercially dominated by white faces.
